History of Art students visit the Liverpool Saleroom of Adam Partridge Auctioneers

History of Art Site Visit

The Careers Team arranged a site visit for History of Arts students to Adam Partridge Auctioneers.  Emma Roberts, Programme Leader for History of Art, said this about this visit:

“The LJMU History of Art students visited the Liverpool Saleroom of Adam Partridge Auctioneers. We had a great visit and learned so much about the career of auctioneering from auctioneer, Ruth, and her fellow employee, Sophie. Sophie is also actually a graduate of our LJMU History of Art course! Following graduation in July 2017 she was offered a full-time position with Adam Partridge Auctioneers in December 2017! It wonderful to hear from her about her work and about how her History of Art degree helped her to gain employment.

“We learned that auctioneering is a very flexible career and that no two days are the same. Often, fascinating objects and art works can be handled and auctioneers meet interesting people from all walks of life.

“It seems that the students today might well now consider this exciting career!  Thanks very much for arranging the visit and thanks to The Liverpool Saleroom of Adam Partridge Auctioneers for hosting us.”
