Mrs Alison Devine (senior lecturer and academic ORIEL lead from the School of Pharmacy) and Ms Laura Aldridge (careers adviser from the Careers Team) have produced a 45 minute Panopto lecture, to support pharmacy students who are about to go through the ORIEL selection centre.
ORIEL is the recruitment process that all hospital and some community pharmacies (particularly larger companies) are using to recruit for pre-registration placements.
Pharmacy students can view the slides, and listen to the recording, to find out more about:
- The multiple mini interview format that is used at the ORIEL selection centre.
- How to best prepare yourself for this, by reviewing the Professional Attributes Framework for pharmacists beforehand, and preparing examples and evidence in relation to this.
- Advice about answering scenario based clinical questions.
- Strategies that can help you to improve your overall interview technique.
If you require further help once you have listened to this recording then you can email: a.j.devine@ljmu.ac.uk or l.aldridge@ljmu.ac.uk. You can also arrange a mock interview with Laura Aldridge by emailing her directly, or by telephoning Byrom Careers Zone on 0151 231 2048.
