The NHS are currently recruiting for the Scientist Training Programme (STP), which has opened earlier than in previous years, but has a very short window for applications.

The STP offers you the chance to work in a three year paid job with the NHS within healthcare science, whilst gaining approved and accredited training in the workplace and a funded Masters qualification.

To find out more about these opportunities (and to access the online application form) please click here.

A full list of the job vacancies which are available via the Scientist Training Programme (listing the specialism and the location) can also be accessed via the above link.

You must complete your application form by Monday 20 January and you must complete the online aptitude tests (which are required as part of your STP application) by Wednesday 22 January.

Laura Aldridge, Careers Adviser for the Faculty of Science, said: “Students should be advised that there is very high competition for these vacancies.  For reference, a list of the number of applicants which the NHS received last year per specialism can be found here.

“Therefore, I strongly advise you to have your application form reviewed by one of the employability advisers at Byrom Careers Zone before submitting it to the NHS.  It is also advisable to have a back-up plan and to apply to other job or further study opportunities as well.”

To make a careers appointment, call into Byrom Street Careers Zone or by telephone 0151 231 2048.
