The School of Sport and Exercise Sciences has launched a new podcast series where they talk to the School’s alumni about their time at LJMU and their transition into the world of employment.
Presented by Tomos Ivers, who is currently studying for a Masters in Sports Journalism, and Richard Murray, a Teaching Support Officer at the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, the aim of the series is to explore the career possibilities available to students following a degree from the School.
Each episode features a conversation with a different former student, who offer top tips and advice about what the courses are like, where it might lead in terms of a future career as well as what it was like being a student at LJMU.
The conversations also highlight how their time at LJMU equipped them with the tools, experience and insight to explore careers both within and outside of the sports sector.
Although primarily aimed at prospective, current and former students from the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, the career conversations are relevant to anybody.
There are currently two episodes available; the first episode features Ben Torkornoo, a recent LJMU graduate, who talks about his role in elite sport and how the skills and experiences he gained at LJMU helped him secure the role. He also talks about what you can do before you even start University to help with your job search.
The second features Katy Garnham-Lee who completed two degrees at LJMU! Katy talks about her time within different roles and industries, and how it helped her to realise what she enjoyed and what she wanted to do.
Check out the first two episodes now. Further episodes are due for release soon.
